SKYX Platforms Merger Enhances Smart-Home Future with Deako

The merger between SKYX Platforms and Deako sets the stage for a significant boost in smart-home technology.

SKYX Platforms has made headlines with its recent merger with Deako, a move that promises to transform the smart-home landscape. This collaboration is expected to yield a robust pipeline of around 4 million housing units, supported by a network of 50 U.S. homebuilders, including major names like D.R. Horton and Toll Brothers.

Financial Highlights and Growth Projections

As of the end of Q2, SKYX reported approximately $27 million in cash reserves and showed impressive growth with 10 consecutive quarters of year-over-year increases. By 2025, the company anticipates revenue to reach $92 million, thanks in part to the combined builder-channel opportunities.

The merger is set to enhance purchasing efficiency, leading to estimated cost-saving synergies in the region of $6 million. After the merger, Deako’s investor group holds about 15% ownership in SKYX.

Innovative Smart-Home Solutions

One of the standout features of the merger is the development of an all-in-one smart-home platform. This third-generation ceiling-mounted hub will support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with controls for lighting, motion detection, as well as temperature and humidity management. Importantly, the platform is designed to be open, ensuring compatibility with various ecosystems, including Google Home and Apple’s Siri. Furthermore, SKYX aims to align with the upcoming Matter standard, enhancing compatibility across a range of smart devices.

The company is gearing up for production of its advanced platform shortly, eager to tap into future recurring revenue opportunities through diverse services like monitoring and emergency response. SKYX already has a product making waves: the SkyFan & Turbo Heater, which integrates a fan, heater, and light. Expect more visibility for this product in big-box retail stores by early next year.

Expansion in Hospitality and Smart-City Initiatives

SKYX is also making strides in the hospitality sector, utilizing plug-and-play technology that significantly reduces installation time for fixtures. Recent projects include renovations at SpringHill Suites Marriott and announced developments for hotels in locations like France and North Carolina.

The company’s ambitious plans extend beyond hospitality to include smart city projects in Miami, multifamily developments in Austin and San Antonio, as well as new smart-home communities across North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and New York. The Miami initiative is particularly notable, projected to span three to four years with potentially over 500,000 SKYX units involved.

In international markets, SKYX is collaborating on projects in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, although progress is currently limited by ongoing conflict in the region. Domestically, SKYX has recently signed a five-year licensing agreement with Eurofase, expanding its reach within the lighting market.
